ROCKSTAR EGO'S!!! so you think rock bands just show up in your town and go on stage to play, eh? well you might be a tad misled. they all have "riders". it's their "demands" for backstage food, decor, utensils and anything else they can get you to do for them. one of the most famous stories about a rider is the one about the "brown m & m's" for van halen. they didn't care about the color of their m & m's, they were just making sure the person in charge of their backstage area was paying attention. the smoking gun website has a bunch of these and just put the latest from the foo fighters on. i've read theirs the in the past and they are amusing. check out for yourself http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2008/0513081foo1.html

before i congratulate the wings on moving past the first round, i have to tell you about a couple celebrity sightings over the weekend. i have this ability to spot famous people anywhere. i'm always looking around. so i was at motor city harley davidson saturday afternoon and this guy walks in who looks like jesse metcalfe. i said to taylor the riff rock girl "hey, that guy looks like the dude from desperate housewifes". she responded with "yeah..maybe a little". well it was him and he was pretty cool. he showed me pictures of his tricked out harley davidson "rocker" bike. sweet!
then on sunday i trucked out to cleveland to the rock n roll hall of fame. as i was walking through the darker first floor, i noticed comedian jeffrey ross looking at an exhibit. he is currently doing some dates in cleveland this week. i was just about to say hi to him when he dug his finger deep into his nose. needless to say i walked the other way!!LOL now i thought about this a while later and maybe he just didn't want to be bothered talking to some loser from detroit and did it on purpose. it did deter me from talking to him so if that was his objective then mission accomplished! although it didn't seem like he saw me....gross!!!....JEFFREY ROSS...YOU'VE BEEN ROASTED! speaking of digging a little deeper, the red wings move to round 2 of the stanley cup playoffs. nick lidstrom broke the goose egg sunday with another of his 90+ foot shots that went in past ellis who played great for nashville..rest up boys! a long way to go....GO WINGS!!

NEW BEGINING FOR SHINEDOWN.. JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Jason Todd, a guitarist for the local band called Shinedown, was arrested and charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer, Wednesday.
According to the police report, Todd was staggering in the middle of Beach Boulevard, shortly before 2am.
An officer shined his vehicle’s spotlight on Todd. Todd then looked at the officer and ran. The officer ordered Todd to stop. He did not.
The officer then got out of his vehicle and chased Todd on foot. Again, the officer ordered Todd to stop. He replied, “No, someone is following me.”
After a struggle, Todd was handcuffed and taken to Duval County Jail.
According to the report, Todd admitted to taking Zanax earlier in the evening.

Hi everyone. Its been awhile since I've posted, but I wanted to reach out to all of the Shinedown fans myself and let you know what's going on firsthand. We just heard about Jasin's recent troubles in Jacksonville, and our thoughts and prayers are with him. A lot has happened this past year and there has been some changes within the band that we've been meaning to tell you about. I love Jasin like a brother, we all do - he'll always be family and we hope all of the best for him, but, at this time, he's no longer with us in Shinedown. This all went down awhile ago, and I'm sorry to break this news today. I realize that this isn't the best timing, but with stuff like this, there really isn't ever a good time. We just felt like we couldn't wait any longer and had to let you all know. We've brought an old friend into SD - Nick Perri. Nick's an amazing guitarist and we've known him forever from our days on the road with Silvertide (many of you were probably at those shows and remember him too). We also have a new bass player - Eric Bass. Just a fantastic musician and all around great guy - we can't wait for you to meet him. And you will very soon - we're hitting the road next month. I'm also happy to report that the new album is finished and we're so excited to share it with all of you. Its called The Sound Of Madness and will be out this summer. Please stay tuned to the website and radio stations out there…the first song is coming soon. Lastly, I just want to thank you again for all of your support. You're the best fans in the world and the reason we're even here. Without you, there is no Shinedown. Don't ever forget that - we definitely don't.

HEAT FREAK!! joel zumaya took a few minutes from signing autographs at autorama to come by the RIFF booth and do something he loves doing..play guitar hero! and dam is he good. he played dragonforce's "through the fire and the flames" at HARD, very impressively. my head was spinning just watching the notes fly by.......
